Barbara Sue Whaley Cox, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025. Barbara dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband, Gerald, their three children, three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Barbara’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. She loved the holidays and her holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated by family. She loved unconditionally. She worked many years at Magnavox, Levi’s, and Standard Knitting Mills.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald and daughter, Judy. She is survived by children Jerry (Tammie) and Jeffrey (Michelle); grandchildren, Nicholas, Nycole (Rick), and Tyler (Abby); great-grandchildren, Averrie, Ridley, Elliott, Evie, and Riley; brothers, Alfred and Paul. Receiving friends will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with service to follow with Rev. Benny Flynn officiating. Family and friends will meet Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service.
