Barbara Ann Cox, of Ramseur, North Carolina, passed away on December 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 1, 1942, Barbara was the daughter of Samuel Lloyd and Dovie Green Brady. She had suffered from symptoms of Alzheimer's we didn't recognize until hindsight beginning in 2012 to her admission to a memory care facility in July 2021. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt to those who knew her. Barbara's journey in life was one filled with love, dedication, and a touch of glamour. She graduated from high school in her small hometown and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Larry Gene Cox. After some introspection, they decided they needed to move away to achieve the dreams they had. Larry's career in the Air Force led them to new adventures and opportunities they wouldn't have had otherwise. While the road was not always smooth, they worked diligently toward to the life they wanted together. They worked hard, planned, and executed. Known for her impeccable style and always-put-together appearance, Barbara worked at a department store and served as a secretary at a Baptist church before embracing her most cherished role as a homemaker. She devoted herself to raising her children and supporting her hardworking husband, Larry. It wasn't always easy but Larry and Barbara always worked through it. Barbara had a passion for making everything beautiful-whether it was her well-coordinated outfits, her meticulously tended garden, or the well-orchestrated celebrations she hosted for her family during holidays and birthdays. Her love for jewelry, sewing, stained glass, and all things special and artistic brought joy to those around her. While Barbara kept a small circle of friends, her heart belonged to her family, who she adored beyond measure. As her dementia progressed, she remained a sweet soul, often responding with a gentle "no" to Larry's requests, but always with a smile that warmed their hearts. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband Larry Cox, brothers Tommy (Gail) Brady and Gary Brady, children Tim (Carol) Cox and Valorie (Ethan) Goodowens, and her beloved grandchildren Catie, Brady, Craig, Abby and Grace, who she loved dearly. Despite her playful advice to space out their births, they were all born within a year of each other. This yielded lots of babies she could devote her time to. Barbara's voice may have faded with time, but her memories and the legacy of love she leaves behind will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but remembered with fondness, laughter, and the beauty she brought to every moment shared.
