Barbara Lucille (Bricker) Culotti, age 77, passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in
Lake City, FL, on Monday, December 22, 2025, with family at her side. Her passing came after a years-long battle with a rare and as-yet untreatable neurological condition, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), diagnosed by Mayo Clinic in April 2023.
Barbara was born August 17, 1948, in
Indianapolis, Indiana, relocating as a teenager to Fremont, Indiana, with her parents and sister. She graduated in 1966 from Fremont High School, attended Indiana University, and, after several interruptions in her college career, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from IU.
Barbara met Robert "Bob" Culotti, originally from Marcellus, New York, in 1969 when he was attending Tri-State College in nearby Angola, Indiana. They married in 1971 and had three children over their 54 years of marriage. Bob's nine years in the Air Force and 25 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs took them around the U.S., moving 14 times and living in nine states. They settled in Lake City in 1993. Barbara was employed as a bank teller and teacher's aide, among other positions, in multiple locations.
Barbara was blessed with a beautiful soprano singing voice and was a member and featured soloist in choral groups and church choirs in each location they lived, most recently Epiphany Catholic Church and St. James Episcopal Church in Lake City. She was the requested vocalist for upwards of 150 weddings, funerals, anniversaries, and other special occasions in Lake City.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Culotti; their three children, Christina Parrish (Ronald), Robert Culotti, and Stephen Culotti; grandchildren, Nathan Conley (Natalie), Lilya Conley, Lucas Parrish, and step-granddaughter, Kylie Parrish. She was preceded in death by her father, John Bricker; mother, Lucille Krueger Bricker; and sister, Janice Willour.
Barbara lived a rich and interesting life filled with love and laughter. She loved traveling, singing, and talking with both friends and strangers alike. As she now rests in peace, she will continue to live on in the thoughts and memories of all those who knew and loved her and whose lives she touched.
A funeral Mass will be held for Barbara at Epiphany Catholic Church, 1905 SW Epiphany Court,
Lake City, FL 32025, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, followed by a reception and luncheon in the Parish Hall. Condolences may be sent to PO Box 182,
Lake City, FL 32056. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to CurePSP (www.psp.org) to aid in their work to increase awareness, support patients and families, and fund critical research in pursuit of a cure.
