Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel - PowellBarbara Cygan, age 71, of Dublin Ohio, formally of Toledo Ohio died Thursday August 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family members.
Barbara was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 29, 1954 to Wayne and Eileen Ferguson. She graduated from Central High School and St. Vincent Nursing school in Toledo Ohio.
Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Jeffery Cygan Sr., daughters Erin Davis (Gary), Natalie Mitchell, daughter in-law Jennifer Cygan, and her four beautiful grandchildren Lavinia, Mason, Evlin, Maeve, siblings, John (JoAnne) Ferguson, James Ferguson, Richard (Janet) Ferguson, Sister Nancy Ferguson OSF and Karen Ferguson.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son Jeffery Cygan Jr., parents Wayne and Eileen Ferguson, brother Wayne Ferguson, and sister Patricia Armer.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She dedicated many years to her passion as a nurse, working at St. Vincent’s and Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio supporting PICU, CIU, and Life Flight. Barbara spent her remaining career advising and supporting hospital staff from an administrative and clinical perspective. Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends, baking, gardening, and at the beach.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested donations be made to Columbus Oncology and Hematology of Columbus, Ohio and Rosary Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio.
