Barbara Ann Dotson, age 84, of Marceline, Missouri, peacefully passed at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Born on January 17, 1941, in Marceline, Missouri, Barbara was the daughter of Edward Pavlovich and Edith Pearl (Baer) Pavlovich. A 1958 graduate of Marceline High School, Barbara soon moved to Kansas City, where she lived for 49 years. It was there she worked, built her career and raised her family. After retiring, she returned to Marceline in 2008 to enjoy the quieter pace of home. Barbara was known for her warm and hardworking spirit. She deeply loved her family and friends and found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures-spending time reading, tending to her yard, redoing and arranging her yard ornaments, and enjoying occasional outings at the casinos. She is survived by her children: Denney Majors of Bucklin; and Susan Majors and husband Rick Lathrop of Marceline; grandchildren, Jessica Phillips (Mark) of Bucklin; Heather Parks (Lucas) of Linneus; and Kim Morales (Angel) of Portland, Oregon. She will also be lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren: Cruz, Eleanor, Hallie, Grace, Lucille, and soon-to-arrive Easton. Barbara is also survived by one niece, Terri Pavlovich Hoover (Lee) of Marceline, and one great niece, Kaitlyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Edward Pavlovich; her sister-in-law, Ann Pavlovich; and her husband. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Animal Shelter of Linn County may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 North Missouri Ave. Marceline, MO 64658. Barbara Ann Dotson lived a life rooted in love, hard work, and family. She will be greatly missed and forever cherished by those who knew her.
