Geraldean Burris

Geraldean "Gerry" Burris, 91, of Marceline, Missouri, passed away on November 25, 2025, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing. She was born April 16, 1934, in Wien, Missouri, to Jerry and Catherine (Vietti) Chrisman. Geraldean graduated from Bynumville High School in 1952 and worked for many years as a cook in the food service industry, where she was known for her good food and kind heart. She married Herbert Jacob Fessler in 1956 and later married Jesse Robert Burris on June 27, 1976. Geraldean loved her cats, long phone calls, collecting bobbleheads, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family remembers her as someone who always enjoyed a good visit and never missed a chance to show her love. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Narvre, Rebekah Lodge, and the Eagles, and held a deep faith that guided her throughout her life. She is survived by her children Herby Fessler (Billie Jo) of St. Catharine, Missouri, Teresa Adams (Mark) of Monroe City, Missouri, Roberta Replogle (Phillip) of Mexico, Missouri, Jerry Fessler of Marceline, Missouri, and Step-son Owen Burris of Keytesville, Missouri; She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, including Jody, T.J., Amy, Barbie, Sara, Jamie, Joseph, Toni, Brandon, Jason, Jacob, and Jessie, along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Sherri Burris, step-daughter Bernilda Craig, and step-son Robert Wayne Burris. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline, with funeral services to follow. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and Father McCarten Catholic School.
