Sara Louise (Weimer) Garvey, 71, of Brookfield, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at her home.
Sara was born on March 15, 1954, in
Marceline, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Abeln) Weimer. She was a 1972 graduate of Marceline High School. On June 16, 1984, she married Michael Garvey at St. Mary's of the Angels Church in Wien, Missouri, and together they shared more than 40 wonderful years of marriage.
A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Sara was a devoted member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline where she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked for over forty years in quality assurance at Walsworth Publishing, where her attention to detail and care for her work were well known.
Sara loved gardening and tending to her flowers. Sara's greatest pride and joy was, without a doubt, her family. She was the steadfast foundation for her children, offering guidance, support, and a comforting presence.
Her relationship with her grandchildren was a source of pure delight. She was a treasured grandparent, rarely missing a game or school event; a reliable caregiver who loved to host her grandchildren for sleepovers. She also used her creative talents, sewing and crafting many projects for her grandchildren, and she truly loved orchestrating family dinners and making holidays special for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Garvey of the home; her children, Malissa Weimer of Columbia, Missouri, Matthew Garvey and wife Priscilla of Brookfield, Catherine Black and husband Jonathan of Brookfield, and Nicholas Garvey and partner Jacs Orr of Brookfield; nine grandchildren, Kristian Weimer, Noah Williams, Madalynn Williams, Analiese Garvey, Grace Garvey, Declan Garvey, Vienna Garvey, Carson Black, and Bo Black; and her siblings, Philip Weimer (Sharon) of Salisbury, Jeannie Burk (Lloyd) of New Cambria, David Weimer of Salisbury, Janice Allen (Bill) of Brookfield, Alice Niemeier (Darryl) of New Cambria, George Weimer (Tonyia) of Marceline, and Kyle Weimer (Laurie) of New Cambria. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Weimer.
