We are writing to share the sad news that Maxine Donnelson Garvey passed away on October 31, 2025, in Ogden, Utah, at the age of 76.
Maxine was born on August 1, 1949, to Helen Marr Jones and Glenn Alfred Donnelson in Ogden, where she grew up and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. On February 16, 1968, she married George Garvey. They raised their four children-Sherry, Tammy, Frank, and Mandy-in Hooper, Utah, where they lived until George's passing in 2021.
Maxine worked at Mckaydee Hospital for many years before retiring from the IRS. She loved camping and fishing with her family and was a devoted animal lover.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sherry (Shane) Evenhuis, Tammy (Kim) Young, and Mandy (Brandon) Cunningham; four grandchildren, Kallie Young, Trinton Young, Crystal Evenhuis, and Connor Frank Cunningham; three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Alizè, and Arya; her brother Glenn (Carol) Donnelson and her sister Arlene (Paul) Ross; and many nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, her son Frank, her sisters Marguerite Betty Lou, and her brother Duwayne.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Aplus Hospice, especially Jadee, Skylee, Julie, and Jen, for the outstanding care and compassion they showed our mother and our family. Thank you also to the staff at Hidden Valley for being so amazing.
We will be celebrating Maxine's life on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Farr West LDS Church 1800 W 1800 N, Farr West, Utah. All are welcome to join us in her remembrance.
