Barbara S. Duksa, 81, of Copake, passed away Thursday August 27, 2025. She was surrounded by her daughters. Born on December 3, 1943 in New Britain, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Casimer and Stella Buslewitcz.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years Joseph “Bud” Duksa.

She was an active parishioner of St. Bridgets church and then later to Our Lady of Hope in Copake Falls. She was a lecture, communicant, treasurer, and religious education teacher. Barbara supported her daughter‘s activities, including Girl Scouts, 4-H, school and sporting events. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially knitting and quilting. She was a homemaker when her children were young and then she began working as a bank teller at Hudson River Bank and Trust, which then became First Niagara in Copake until her retirement.

During retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their families. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She leaves behind her daughters; Becky (Jeff), Charlene (Rob), and Kim (Scott). Her seven grandchildren; Courtney, Caitlin, Chris, Ben, Jake, Brandon and Joel. She leaves behind two great grandchildren, Ellie and Maddie. She also leaves behind two sisters, Pat and Arlene.

She will be greatly missed, but we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and that they will be watching over us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30th at 1:00 pm from Our Lady of Hope Parish, Route 22, Copake Falls. Interment will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
