Barbara C. DuVarney of West Boylston, MA, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 29, 2025. Born on November 24, 1936, in Clinton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Sesia) and Aulo Turini. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy, Barbara dedicated nearly five decades of her life as a bus driver, serving the communities of Shrewsbury, Boylston, and West Boylston. Known for her reliability, kindness, and strong work ethic, she became a beloved figure to generations of families.

Barbara’s life was centered on her family and her faith community. She also had a lifelong love of horses, spending many years riding, showing, and judging. Later in life, she became a founding member of the Colonial Miniature Horse Club. Additionally she dearly loved German Shepherds, breeding and owning many throughout her lifetime. She served as Secretary of the Chancery for the Diocese of Worcester and, as a woman of strong faith, was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in West Boylston.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Deacon Joseph DuVarney; her sons, Joseph DuVarney Jr. of Pembroke, NH, Anthony DuVarney and his wife Annette (King) of West Boylston, and Dominic DuVarney and his wife Kelley (Russell) of Austin, TX; her son-in-law, Robert Lanciani of Sterling; her sisters, Janice Richardson of Townsend and Michelle O’Malley and her husband John of Sterling; her cherished grandchildren, Peter, Thomas, Jacalyn, Daniel, Jessica, Andrew, AnneMarie, Austin, Timothy, and Christian; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Shane and Damian. She also dearly loved her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Lanciani; her brother, Raymond Turini; her sister Janice’s life partner, Kevin Roche; and her lifelong best friend, Barbara Mecum.
