Barbara C. Eldred

Statesboro, Georgia Mrs. Barbara Jeane Eldred, age 89, died May 14, 2024, at The Gardens Senior Living facility, under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. The Lansing, Michigan native was a graduate of Eastern High School. Following high school, she soon began a career with the State of Michigan, where she was employed in the Governor's office, but spent the majority of her career working with the Department of Crippled Children, until her retirement in the mid 1990's. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2016 where she resided until moving to Rincon, Georgia with her daughter and son-in-law, in 2021. She had been a resident of The Gardens Senior Living in Statesboro for the past year and a half. Mrs. Eldred was of the Methodist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn David Cook and LaVeta Boutwell Cook; a son William Eldred and a sister, Joyce Elaine Kinnison. Surviving are a son, Leland Eldred of De Pere, WI; a daughter and son-in-law, Machel and Kevin Anderson of Rincon; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A graveside service and burial will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:30am, at Deep Dale Memorial Gardens in Lansing, Michigan. Friends may sign the online register book at www.joineranderson.com.
