Barbara Eldridge Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home - Fitchburg on May 20, 2024.
Leominster – Barbara Ann (Auger) Eldridge Morris, 76 of Leominster passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 in the Lahey Clinic in Burlington surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born in Fitchburg on April 19, 1948, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lorene (Edwards) Auger. She grew up in Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School in 1966. She lived in Fitchburg and Leominster almost all of her life.
Barbara worked as a home healthcare aid for over thirty-five years throughout the area prior to her retirement in 2018. She began working for Home Staff in the early 1980's and stayed with them when they were acquired by Diversified until her retirement. She touched the hearts of many caring for her elderly and disabled patients.
She loved going to the beach and driving up the Mohawk Trail. She enjoyed cooking, playing board games, cribbage, scrabble and dominos. She was an avid dart player back in the day. She loved talking on the phone with friends and family and reading and ordering books so much so that we thought she had an underground book ring going on.
She leaves her son, Vance R. Eldridge and his wife Lori of Brandon, FL; her daughter, Darlene B. (Eldridge) Allatt and her husband, William of Fitchburg; two sisters, Diane Gentile and her husband, Paul of Westminster and Linda Rossi and her husband, John of Gardner; five grandchildren, Brianna Eldridge of FL, Heather Rodriguez of FL, Shawna McHugh of NH, Christopher Howard of NC and Justin Howard of NC. She also leaves great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends.
She is predeceased by two grandchildren; Vance R. Eldridge Jr. of FL and Ashley M. Cormier of MA.
Barbara's family will receive family and friends on May 23rd from 4 to 6 PM followed by a memorial service by her nephew, Pastor Ralph Rumill at the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg.
