Barbara K. Engle, 66, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away in her sleep on Friday morning, May 9, 2025 at her home with her friend, neighbor, and caregiver Deanna Garcia by her side. Born February 13, 1959 in Warsaw, she was the daughter of Franklin Frey and Edith (Harmon) Frey.
Being raised in Columbia City, Barb graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1977. Over the years, Barb worked in the insurance industry for Insurance & Risk and Gallant Group. She was a animal lover and a supporter of the Humane Society of Whitley County.
Barbara is survived by her two cats, Mily and Mazey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Frey, father and step-mother, Frank and Laura Frey; twin sister, Billie Mishler; sister, Sandra "Sandy" Lackey; and her beloved dog and faithful companion, Max.
Per Barb's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
