Barbara Farnung Obituary

She was born in Yonkers on July 23, 1944 to the late Michael Mazgaj and Helen (Gawlik) Mazgaj. She graduated in 1981 with her bachelor's degree in business administration from Mercy College. She worked for the Yonkers Board of Education for 16 years before she retired in 2008.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, James Farnung and her sister, Teresa Chach. She is also survived by her children, Kenneth Farnung (Angel) and Christine Dezendorf (Gregg) as well as three grandchildren – Jake, Ashley and Erik. She was loved her by nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. She loved getting together with her family and friends, but she most dearly loved watching her beloved grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Earth Angels Believe Foundation – Helping Cancer Warriors of the Hudson Valley. Please click HERE to donate.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, September 24th from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Services – 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, September 25th at 9:30 am at St. John the Baptist in Yonkers, NY.
