Barbara is survived by her only son, Emile Blackburn III (Lynn); 8 siblings, Oscar Jr, David Sr, Arthur Sr, and Bryan Fernandez, Dorothy Jones (Clarence), Joyce James, Beatrice Butler, and Donna Taylor (Ricky); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Relatives, friends of the family, and employees of VA Medical Center are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, October 25, 2025, 10:00AM, at Beulah Land Baptist Church, 2436 St. Maurice Ave, NOLA with Rev. Michael Zachaier officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Internment Mt. Olivet Cemetery & Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA.
