Barbara Clontz Ford
Barbara Clontz Ford, went to her eternal home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on September 13, 1954, in Haywood County, North Carolina to the late William Roy Clontz Sr. and Mary Ellen Conner Clontz. She is also preceded in death by her great grandson Jace Everett Singleton and a brother Gerald Steven Clontz, Barbara lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the mountains she loved so dearly.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered for her creativity, warmth, and generous spirit. She had a lifelong passion for making things by hand and found great joy in quilting, crocheting, and all kinds of crafts. Her talent and dedication were widely admired, especially during the holidays-her Christmas decorations were so beautiful they earned her multiple awards and brought joy to all who saw them.
Barbara also loved spending time in her flower garden, where she took special pride in her roses. Tending her garden was one of her greatest pleasures, and it reflected the care and patience she showed in all areas of her life.
A wonderful cook, Barbara, was known for her home-canned goods and delicious meals, which she lovingly prepared and shared with family and friends. Feeding others was one of the many ways she expressed her love.
Left to share her memories are her children Jack Singleton Jr. (Jennifer) and Teresa S. Bailey (Jeremy). Her siblings William "Bill" Clontz Jr. (Sandy) and Joy Freeman (Jimmy). Grandchildren Dustin Bailey (Mary), Skyler Buckner (Justin), Lulu Colclasure, Sam Colclasure, Jasmine Colclasure, Gabby Colclasure, Jack Colclasure, Jackson Singleton, Hayley Singleton, Levi McFalls (Kaitlyn) and Leah Singleton. Great grandchildren Sawyer Bailey, Everlee Bailey, Bryson Buckner, Lainey Buckner, Trenton Buckner, Tucker Colclasure, Mayson McFalls and Laikyn McFalls. Her nieces and nephews Karlie Raines (Tim), Trey Freeman (Phoebe), Jessica Coward (Barry), Lindsey Holtsclaw, Josh Clontz (Heather), Todd Raines (Hayley), Tripp Raines, Harper Raines, Pearl Freeman, Otto Freeman, Alexis Clontz, Grace Clontz Emilee Clontz, Natalynn Holtsclaw, Conley Holtsclaw, Calvin Holtsclaw and Cooper Holtsclaw. A special sister-in-law Valerie Clontz and special son-in-law Kenneth Bailey along with many friends.
Services for Barbara will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, in the Chapel at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Services of Maggie Valley NC.
Barbara's creativity, kindness, and the beauty she brought into the world-through her crafts, her garden, and her kitchen-will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
