Barbara Freudenberg, 63, of Mount Laurel, formerly of Brick Twp, NJ,, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, at the Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees, New Jersey. Born on December 21, 1960, in Lakewood, New Jersey, she was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend whose profound kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Barbara's early years were spent growing up in Brick, NJ, in the nurturing care of her late parents, Theodore Tobiassen, Sr. and Barbara Tobiassen nee Sweetman. She grew up alongside her siblings, Jean, Mary, Sonia, Theodore, and Lara, in a home filled with laughter and love. Though she was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Thomas Freudenberg, Barbara's legacy continues through her adored children, Levi Gervasi and Cara Gervasi, who were the center of her world.
A dedicated mother, Barbara's passion for education led her to homeschool Levi and Cara during their formative years. She instilled in them a love of learning, often taking them on educational trips to museums and the beach, ensuring that their minds were as nourished as their spirits. Her commitment to nurturing young minds extended beyond her home as she taught nutrition to underprivileged children at Rutgers University. Barbara's tireless work ethic was evident as she juggled multiple jobs to support her family, yet she always maintained her unwavering positivity and good humor.
Barbara's deep faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of the Calvary Chapel in Old Bridge, she lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and service. Her faith was her compass, guiding her through life's challenges and joys with grace and fortitude.
Her siblings, Jean Tobiassen Bucci, Mary Ronan (Richard), Sonia Sikora, Theodore Tobiassen (Erin), and Lara Voss (Jay), will fondly remember Barbara's infectious laughter and her talent for making every gathering a joyous occasion. Her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews were blessed to experience her generosity and the warmth of her spirit.
Barbara's zest for life was evident in her love for dancing. Whether it was a spontaneous dance in her car or a night out dancing with her sisters, she embraced the rhythm of life with open arms. Her sense of humor and her ability to never have a bad day were traits that not only defined her but also uplifted those around her.
Described by those who knew her best as thoughtful, selfless, and loving, Barbara was the epitome of kindness. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, often putting the needs of others before her own. Her selflessness was not just a trait but a way of life, making her the most selfless person one could have the fortune of knowing.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Rt 73 South and Evesham Rd, Marlton, NJ 08053. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10:30 am, at Indiantown Gap Veterans Cemetery in Annville, PA.
