Barbara Fuscaldo, 88 of Toms River, passed from this life peacefully at home on September 18, 2025 with her cherished daughters by her side.

Barbara was born March 19,1937 in Newark to the late Jane and Wilbur Fanning. She was a longtime resident of Bloomfield where she was an active parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

She was a loving wife, devoted sister, proud mother of four daughters, grandmother of 9, and great grandmother of 4. She worked in the banking industry for many years in both Bloomfield and Toms River. An awesome cook, Barbara always enjoyed preparing favorite dinners and desserts for her treasured family. Though she was not of Italian descent, her homemade meatballs, ravioli, and gravy could rival any around and were loved and craved by all who were lucky enough to get a taste. In her time, Barbara was a formidable bowler and card player. She looked forward to fun trips to Atlantic City where she was incredibly lucky and enjoyed all the well-earned perks of buffet dinners and time with friends. Barb was adored by her family above all else and is best described as selfless, dedicated, and simply a natural at motherhood and grandmothering. She will be greatly missed especially by her family and by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph J. Fuscaldo, parents, Wilbur Fanning and Jane Slawinski Fanning; and sister, Dolores Goerke. She is also survived by her devoted daughters, Joanne Travaglini (Richard); Lisa Varone; Trish Harvie (Jim); Donna Bond-Nelson (Stephen); loving grandchildren, Alex Varone (Briana); Joseph Travaglini (Melissa); Ben Varone; Jason Travaglini, Amanda Harvie Mahoney (Gavin),; Justin Harvie (Becca); Cara Travaglini; Kate Bond-Nelson; and Chris Bond-Nelson. She treasured time spent with her precious great grandchildren, JJ and Augie Travaglini, Ryan Varone, and Autumn Mahoney.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at St. Justin the Martyr RC Church with Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception, Upper Montclair, N.J.

Family and friends are invited to attend a repast luncheon honoring and celebrating Barbara's life at Bella Napoli Restaurant in Bloomfield. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Barbara's name would be greatly appreciated by any who wish to honor her.
