Barbara L. Gilstrap, age 80 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Baptist East, surrounded by her family.
Ms. Gilstrap was born February 7, 1945 in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, the daughter of Clarence and Effie Doan Hasty. She was retired from Smith Cabinet.
Ms. Gilstrap is survived by her sons, Jonathon Gilstrap (Ashley) of Salem, Darrell Fultz (Sheila) of Salem, Richard Fultz (Heather) of Salem and Michael Scott Fultz of Salem. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Ms. Gilstrap is also survived by her companion, Jack David Hobson of Campbellsburg. She is also survived by her sister in laws, Cynthia and Brenda Hasty.
Ms. Gilstrap is preceded by her parents, her daughter Myle Carter, her brothers: Jack Hasty, Windell Hasty, Homer Hasty, Billy Hasty, Clarence (Jib) Hasty, Tilmon Hasty and a sister, Gertrude McClure. She is also preceded by two great grandchildren, Wrenleigh and Ayden.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 29 at Weathers Funeral Home at 1:00p.m. Visitation will also be on Saturday, from 10:00a.m until the time of the service. Burial at Crown Hill Cemetery will follow after the funeral service.
