BASTROP, LOUISIANA
Barbara Goodman was born at St. Francis, Arkansas on July 18, 1958 to the late Dow Shelton Young and Annie Deaton Young. She passed away at her home in Jones, Louisiana on December 10, 2025 following a brief illness. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Young and Essie Mae Young; and four brothers, Terry Lynn Young, Jimmy Dale Young, Billy Joe Young, and Don Wayne Young. Barbara attended New Hope Baptist Church and saved by grace through her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Goodman is survived by her husband, David Goodman; three children, James Jackson and his wife Mathilda, Barbara Peterson and her husband, Chuck, and Lisa White. She is also survived by two granddaughters, LeAnna Peterson and EmilyAnn Jackson; four grandsons, Charles Peterson, Seth Peterson, Jacob Jackson, and Mason Jackson; two sisters, Annie Louise Kendall and Brenda Kay Woolridge; three brothers, Dow Shelton Young, Jr., Gary Wayne Young, and Ronnie Lee Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the New Hope Baptist Church, Jones, Louisiana begining at 11:30 AM till 12:30 PM followed by graveside funeral services at 1:00 PM at the LA-ARK Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana. Serving as pallbearers are Jacob Jackson, Mason Jackson, Emily Ann Jackson, Seth Peterson, Gary Young, Jr., and Daniel Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Young, Jr. and Daniel (Breezy) Peoples.
