LEXINGTON - Barbara "Barb" K. Halsey of Lexington, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 9th, 2026, at home surrounded by family.
Barb was born in Galion, Ohio on March 11, 1949, to Joseph and Cleola Flannery. She graduated from Galion High School and North Central State College.
Known for her loving and spirited personality, Barb found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Those who knew Barb know she loved to fill her patio with flowers, bask in the sun, dance, vacation near water, and all things Christmas. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed studying architecture and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-one years, Daniel Halsey; her devoted daughters, Amy (David) Stewart and Alesa Mansfield; her cherished grandchildren, Chaz (Cassandra) Hester and Austyn Hester; her adored great-grandchildren Colton, Callie, and Cayson; her sisters Marty Weithman and Patty (Doug) Stauffer; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Leanne Galliers, and Michael Flannery; and her first husband, Steven Michael Britton.
Barb leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and the reminder to live life to the fullest. We welcome friends and family to celebrate her life on March 22nd from 1pm to 4pm at the Deer Ridge Golf Club banquet hall at 900 Comfort Plaza Belville, Ohio 44813.
True to her nature, she requested that the occasion be filled with joy and fond memories. In lieu of flowers, plant something beautiful in your own garden or donate to Tunnel to Towers.

My sincere condolences to all of Barb’s family and friends. We have lost a great one. I remember our many sleepovers in high school and all our deep discussions from boyfriends to dancing to the war . Barb left a big impression on me and I have often thought of her throughout my life. She was fun, intelligent, and a great friend. She will always be in my thoughts from time to time.
