Barbara grew up in St. Louis, where her lifelong calling to care for others began. While training as a student nurse, she met her future husband when he was recovering from a motorcycle accident in the hospital. A devoted wife, accomplished nurse, and extraordinary mother and grandmother, Barbara lived a life rooted in service and compassion. She was intelligent, caring, empathetic, and endlessly kind. Barbara had a gift for making every birthday and holiday feel magical-through her holiday decorations, her wonderful cooking and baking, and the boundless love she poured into her family. Her warmth and generosity were felt in every corner of her home.
Barbara was a voracious reader, an accomplished gardener, and found great joy in birdwatching-interests she eagerly shared with those she loved. Above all, she treasured her role as "Mimi" to her grandchildren, delighting in every moment spent with them.
