John Johnson

Our 56-year-old son, John, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep sometime after 6:33PM on February 24th. A descendant of 3 Rockwall County Pioneer Families, John was born to Johnny Lee and Janice Willess Johnson on August 6th, 1969 In Hobbs, New Mexico. A 1987 graduate of Rockwall High School, he was active in RHS Orange Wave Band and was in the RHS Chorus. After attending the University of Texas Austin, He made many friends by helping technically challenged people to set up equipment or repair the mistakes they made (His parents being among that group)

John was kind, loving, patient, forgiving and a man of integrity. He was multi-talented. He played the trumpet, trombone, accordion and sousaphone / tuba. He surprised his family when he sang a solo at his baccalaureate service. He loved many kinds of music and had a disc jockey business for a time. Shortly after joining RISD, with the encouragement of some teachers at Dobbs Elementary School, he started taking dance lessons and became an accomplished Salsa Dancer. He traveled all over the state of Texas with a Salsa Dance Troupe and eventually progressed to dancing the Argentine Tango. He traveled to Argentina on two occasions to soak up the flavor and add to his expertise.

John is survived by his parents, His daughter and son-in-law anna and Dr. Alredo Johnson, 6 grandchildren: Lydia, Lucia, Matteo, Max Johnson of Prairie Home, Missouri; Clariss and Joey Villarreal of Boston, MA.

He is also survived by a niece, Ana Tristan of Denton, TX, a nephew, David Tristan, great nephew, Johnny Tristan, Tina Smith and great niece Cynthia Smith of Rockwall, TX and numerous cousins.

Proceeding him in death are his grandparents Elvin Hershal and Onita Lowe Johnson, James Homer and melissa Pearl Passons Willess, a grandson, Henry Villarreal, and his beloved sister, Jennifer Lynn Johnson Tristan.
