Barbara Ann Headley (Turba) passed away on October 4, 2025, in Virginia, at the age of 58. Born on December 6, 1966, in Ohio, she spent her formative years attending Lutheran West High School in Cleveland. Throughout her life, Barb was a steadfast presence and pillar of strength for her family and friends.

Barb had an illustrious career spanning over 20 years as a store manager for Barnes and Noble College Bookstores, where she worked at notable institutions such as the University of Central Florida, William & Mary, Northeastern University, MIT, Georgia Tech, and George Mason University. Her inspiring leadership and her ability to connect with others left a lasting impact on coworkers and students.

Barb was not only a remarkable independent woman but also a supportive military spouse to her husband, Steve, and a caring and loving mother to her sons, Ryan and Sean. Known for her unwavering strength and kindness, she balanced her career with her devotion to her family, providing a nurturing environment filled with love and warmth.

Beyond her professional life, Barb was renowned for her culinary skills. She was an incredible cook who took great delight in feeding her family and friends with her delectable creations. Instead of the traditional favorites like apple or pumpkin, her children's favorite pie was chicken pot pie. Her passion for cooking was exemplified when she committed to a New Year's resolution one year to explore her culinary talents by preparing not just one but two new recipes each week. After retiring, she further embraced her love for food by gardening, cultivating fresh ingredients for her delightful "yard to table" meals.

Barb’s remarkable journey came to an end as she bravely fought against cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gerri Turba, who cherished her dearly and welcomed her in heaven.

Barb’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of strength,  passion, and dedication to those she loved will remain etched in their hearts forever.
