Barbara Joyner Hyman, of Louisburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Joyner and Louise Wells Joyner.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ray Hyman; her two children, Terri Dement and Mark Blanchard (Allison Coleman); two step-sons; Chris Hyman (Amy) and Mike Hyman (Angela); three grandchildren, Devan Dement (Hannah Martin), Roan Blanchard (Hannah), and Chloe Blanchard; and step-grandchildren, Sarah Grace, Seth, Allison and Ashleigh Hyman and Oliver Hayes.
Barbara was a cosmetologist by trade, known for scoring the highest test score at cosmetology school. She owned and operated "Barbara's Beauty Nook" at her home in Tarboro for over 20 years. She was a member of Louisburg Methodist Church, and also owner of Magnolia Garden Boutique for over twenty years. She loved flowers and making flower arrangements, playing cards with friends and throwing big parties. Barbara was very stylish and loved anything glittery and sparkly. She was a kind and generous soul and she loved her family tremendously. She was known to everyone as "Mama Bobbie" and loved spoiling children. Barbara loved Elvis Presley and dancing, and decorating for the holidays.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services and other times at the home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 12:00pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services in Louisburg. Interment to follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro.
