Barbara Glover Jackson

Barbara Glover Jackson, age 77, entered eternal rest on Tuesday December 2, 2025. Beloved daughter of Louis and the late Lee Dora Williams Glover. She was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington Senior High School. Barbara was a long-time and happy employee of the Afro American Book Stop and an avid reader. Her hobbies were crocheting, reading, watching and discussing movies, and she also loved shopping online. One of her favorite colors was shades of blue. Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Lee Dora Williams-Glover, grandparents, Louise Johnson, Wallace and Harriet Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories, a beloved father Louis Glover and godson Henry Smith, Jr., her best friend for over 50 years, Victoria Lewis, a former husband, Ulysses Jackson, devoted cousins Barbara Holloway, Lois LeBeaud, Lynette S. Dickerson, Antionette and Denise Smith, Ociejean S. Clay, dedicated friends Queen Esther and Kenyatta King, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastor, Officers, and Members of Saint John's Family Worship Center, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of LIfe Service for Barbara Glover Jackson at Saint John's Family Worship Center, 2404 S. Rocheblave Street, New Orleans, LA, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. Pastor Derran E. Middleton officiating. Visitation from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. (service time) at the Church. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122.
