Barbara Ann Jaye

WESTERLY - Barbara Ann (Armstrong) Jaye, 75, beloved wife for 27 years of Michael T. Jaye, of Saundra Drive, Westerly, passed away at RI Hospital on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

Born in Saginaw, MI, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Paul Armstrong.

Barbara was a 1968 graduate of St. Mary's Cathedral High School in Saginaw, Michigan.

She had her own business, BJ's Cashiering Service, where she managed and cashiered Amateur Trap Shooting Association tournaments. She was also the secretary of the RI Trap Shooting Association for many years.

Barbara was a benefactor life member of the NRA, a champion Trap Shooter who won many awards, a life member of the Bradford Sportsman's Club, a life member of the Narragansett Sportsman's Club, and was on the Westerly Board of Canvassers.

She was a huge fan of the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Redwings, as well as NASCAR. In addition, Barbara loved working in her flower garden and also baking.

Barbara leaves behind her husband Mike; two children, Tammy Anthony (Stanley), and Scott Totten (Cathy); six grandchildren, Angelina (Tony), Dustin, Cheyenne, Stan, Jacob, and Nathin (Alexis); seven siblings, Mary (Harvey), Daniel, Theresa (Jeff), Chris, John (Pat), Raymond (Laurie), and Kathryn (Kraig); 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Michael, Terrence, Richard and James.

Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Monday, Sept. 8, from 11am - 1pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm in the funeral home. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association or Shriners Children's Hospital in Barbara's memory.
