Barbara Katona Obituary
Barbara was born on October 17, 1949 in South Bend to Alex and Harriet (Pinkowski) Katona Jr. She was employed by the University of Notre Dame and also had operated Barb's Restaurant in downtown South Bend. She loved people and was church oriented.
Surviving are a daughter Jeannie (Brian Vogeley) Szucs, a grandchild Caih Szucs, a sister Debbie Winnicki, a brother David (Debbie) Katona, and sister-in-law Jennifer Katona. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jeff Szucs, a sister Beverly Wise, and two brothers Gary Katona and Michael Katona.
Cremation has taken place. No services are scheduled. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

I can remember a time when Barb went to Kroger on Western ave shopping in the early morning hours . Return to her resturant to open for breakfast,and she forgot her money bag in the parking lot of Kroger .She drove back to the store ,and the bag was filled with 1st.Source deposit ,and it was still in cart in the parking lot . It was then , I knew she was truly being smiled upon from heaven and the angels were watching over her, as she watches over us . Keep smiling on us Barbara .We love miss you every day! Thank you for the wonderful memories.

We´re so very saddened to just learn of Barb´s passing. We are praying for her family, that God gives each of her family peace, and comfort. We´re confident we´ll see Barb again with Jesus, Whom she loved. Barb was fun, loving,, and so giving. She´ll be terribly missed by all who had the gift of knowing her.
