Barbara Katren Obituary
She was born on March 18, 1934, in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Gordon and Nellie (Mixer) Brynolfson.
Barb was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry Area High School in 1953. She worked as a typist for Corry Jamestown Corporation until 1960. She married Edward Katren of Corry PA on July 16, 1960. From that point on, she worked alongside her husband operating their dairy farm on Sciota Rd, Corry PA and raising and caring for her family.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed writing, crossword puzzles, coloring, reading and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Katren; and her brother Lenny L. Brynolfson.
Barb is survived by her son Scott Katren and his husband Tom Habursky, sister-in-law Anne Brace, brother-in-law Albert Katren, close family friends Sterling and Joan Huff, friend and caregiver, Peggy Brooks and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407 on Tuesday, December 30th from 10 am until the time of a funeral prayer there at 11 am.
Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Corry, PA.
