William Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bracken Funeral Home, Inc. - Corry on Feb. 2, 2026.
William H. "Bill" Hall, 87, of Corry, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pennsylvania surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on February 15, 1938, in Erie, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Culver Hall and Ella (Carter) Hall Wallen.

Bill was raised and educated in Erie. During his early years, he moved to Corry, Pennsylvania where he worked at Davis TV which was owned by his step father. Bill and his brother, Roy, eventually bought Davis TV and they operated it as Hall Brothers TV for many years. Bill was a self-taught, incredibly hard worker. Throughout his years in Corry he worked with Palmer Construction, worked on the construction of the Union City Dam, was a volunteer fireman, and held several other jobs until becoming an electrician and foreman at Associated Spring where he worked for over 20 years before his retirement. Bill was fortunate enough to enjoy over 20 years of retirement with his family and helping others in any way that he could.

During Bill's life he was a Sunday School Teacher and deacon at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Corry, a member of the Corry Elks Lodge- BPOE #796, and was on the board for the Associated Spring Credit Union. Bill hand-built a beautiful home and barn where he raised his family and lived for over 45 years. He always said, "If you can read, you can do anything." If Bill wasn't working on his own home, fixing things, raising beef cattle with his sons, or helping his family he enjoyed going out for dinner, Doughnut Day, spending time with family, and dancing with his wife Loretta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kellie (Hall) Troyer; two sisters, Ellamae Szumigola and Nancie Humes; and three brothers, Jack, Tom and Dave Hall.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, whom he spent nearly 50 years with, Loretta (Shumsky) Hall; two daughters, Terri Walters and Ashley Baxter and her husband Dan both of Corry, Pennsylvania; two sons, Michael Hall and his wife Bea of Virginia and William "Billy" Hall and his wife Devan of Corry, Pennsylvania; sister, Dolly Comstock of New York and brother, Roy Hall and his wife Cindy of Florida.

He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407 on Friday, February 6th from 6 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday, February 7th from 12 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm. Rev. Mary Norton will officiate.
