Barbara Kennedy

Barbara Ann Kennedy, of Tawas City, formerly a resident of Richmond and Mt. Clemens, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at My Michigan Hospital in Saginaw, age 83 years. Barbara was born in Richmond, Michigan on September 25, 1941 to the late Beatrice L. (Warrick) and Charles Taup. Barbara raised her 6 children in the Mt. Clemens area and later moved to Curtisville, where she met her future husband, Dale Kennedy. The couple moved to South Branch on Jose Lake, and Barbara began working as a courier for Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. During her employment at the hospital, she also worked in the purchasing department until her retirement. A brief time after her retirement, Barbara decided to go back to work as a courier again, this time working for Medspeed Company. Barbara and Dale moved to the Tawas area in 1993, and they married on March 25, 1994. Barbara absolutely loved being outdoors keeping time in her garden and especially her beautiful rose garden. She enjoyed traveling to Tennessee, hosting family and holiday gatherings, and many fun shopping trips! Barbara absolutely adored her beloved dog, Abbie. Her precious smile and unselfish heart will carry on forever in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Barbara is survived by her children, Patrick Brobst of Toledo, Ohio, Thomas Brobst of Hale, Daniel (Angie) Brobst of Bristol, Virginia, Jane (Brad) Johnson of Tawas, Angela (Richard) Burke of Tawas, Scott Kennedy of Rogers City, Teri Lynn Carrol of Hale, and Donna Kolbs; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Kennedy on January 14, 2025; 2 children, Cheryl LaLonde and Kathlene Harr; her parents, Beatrice and Charles Taup; 5 siblings, Charles Jr., Shirley, Lillian, Gerald, and Geraldine. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will host a time of gathering on Thursday, April 24th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
