It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Barbara Ellen (Johnson) Kiernan. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her sister, Christine at Riverview Medical Center on October 30th 2025. Barbara was born in Brooklyn New York on January 4th1968.
Barbara was Christine's partner in crime, they were the closest sisters can be, they could never be far apart from one another, she was also the greatest source of laughter (and pain).
Barbara loved going out socializing, dancing, singing (even though she couldn't carry a tune) loved being out on the water fishing, swimming, sunbathing. She loved trips to Atlantic City but most of all just being with her sister and driving her crazy.
Barbara had the biggest heart and best intentions. She would do and give anything she had to help anybody, even her last penny. Her generosity was as big as her heart.
Though she was taken from us way too soon, we will cherish all the great memories of growing up in Brooklyn, running the streets with the best friends you could ask for and all our crazy, fun shenanigans throughout her life.
She would want us to keep living life to the fullest, and so we will honor her by sharing every fun and embarrassing story and holding our loved ones close. We will love and miss her all the days of our lives.
Barbara is survived by her loving mother Mary Johnson, predeceased by her father Edward Johnson, her beloved sister Christine Johnson Mazzarino, predeceased by her nephew Joseph Patrick whom she loved as her own child, the light of her life and pride and joy her niece Danielle Marie, loving nieces Jennifer and Kimberly, the " grandkids" her beloved Joseph Patrick Jr. (JoeJoe) Noah and Fiona as well as Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends that hold her dear to their hearts. Lastly her "son" her constant companion that gave her unconditional love, her cat Christopher who she loved so much and was completely distraught when he passed suddenly in her arms earlier this year.
As per her wishes, there were private final arrangements made. There will be a gathering for a Celebration of her Life to be announced at a later time.
