PORT WENTWORTH- Barbara Baker Killingsworth, affectionately known as "Lady K" or "Babs," peacefully departed this life on May 6, 2025, in Port Wentworth, Georgia, following a brief battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She was 69 years old. A devoted wife to Brian T. Killingsworth for nearly 39 years, Barbara built a home filled with warmth, strength, and faith. Her life was a testament to the power of service to her family, her community, and to God.
Together, Barbara and Brian raised six children with unwavering love and guidance, nurturing Joewona D.S. Randolph, Joseph N. Singletary, La'Tia S. Killingsworth, and Lo'Tyease T. Killingsworth, while her heart carried the memory of her beloved Le'Onyx S. Killingsworth and Brenton T. Killingsworth.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie L. Baker and Alice D. Sharp, as well as her sister, Tonya Baker. She is survived by her siblings, Terrance Baker, Derrick Baker, and Devette Baker. As the matriarch of her family, Babs nurturing spirit extended to her 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who were the joys of her life.
Babs devoted her career to child development, consultancy, and outreach ministry, epitomizing selflessness and grace. A pastor and founding member of the Word Of The Living God, Purple
Cloak Outreach Ministries, and House of Thorian,LLC.
Her impact was profound, inspiring others through her work in Women of Consecration (WOC) and her involvement with K.E.N.Y.A. Her soft-spoken demeanor and heart for service mirrored the virtues extolled in Proverbs 31- qualities she lived by with unwavering devotion.
Away from her ministry, Barbara found joy in antique and thrift shopping, always finding beauty in the old and the seasoned. Her true joy, however, lay in spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and love.
Barbara's wisdom, often sought out and trusted by many, became a beacon of hope and healing. Her house, a haven where countless found solace through her nurturing presence and heartfelt counsel. She lived not just with love, but through love, imparting life-long lessons on faith, humility,
and generosity. While her physical presence may have departed, her spirit endures in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the quiet strength of her children, and in the faith that binds her family together.
In accordance with her wishes, Barbara will be cremated. As her ashes return to the earth, may her spirit soar to the heavens, where she is undoubtedly watching over those, she loved with a heart full of grace and eternal peace.
