Barbara Stean Kindell
Born October 27, 1956 to John Kindell Jr. and Eddie Mae (Cobb) Kindell in Long Island, New York. The Family moved to Canton, Ohio when she was a young child. Barbara attended Canton City Schools and graduated from a High School in Detroit, Michigan.
She later went to Mansfield Business Collage where she received an associate’s degree in business management.
Barbara was affectionally called “Godie” by all who knew her. She was the sweetest and loved by her family. She had a passion for Arts & Crafts and loved putting puzzles together no matter the size. She loved Angels and had them placed throughout every house she lived in. She was also a seamstress. Who loved to sew, fix and make clothing. Her clothes were featured in several style shows throughout the City of Canton. She loved to put outfits together for her children. She also did the drapery for the Deliverance Christian Church. She loved braiding hair, creating styles like no other. She was employed by The March of Dimes and was a customer service agent for many years.
Barbara joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist church and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the Late Rev. Lightbourne. She later attended Trinity Gospel Temple and finally joined Gethsemane Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Tommie L. Brewer where she was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending.
On July 15th, 2025, Barbara peacefully answered her call from God that said her job was completed here on this earthly soil and she accepted her ticket and wings and flew abroad to rest in the arms of our heavenly Father, where there is no more sickness and pain.
She is proceeded in death by her parents John & Eddie Mae (Cobb) Kindell. 1 sister Sharon Kindell, Grandson Emmanuel Elliott and dear friend Girleena Peavy and a host of other family members.
She leaves behind her 2 children whom she loved dearly Elder Eddy Raffeal Kindell of Columbus, Ohio and Melvina Babbitte Kindell of Canton, Ohio. Grandchildren Keenan Elliott, Mikel, Mi’Kayla and Mikah Kindell. Uncle Ferrell “Pep” Kindell Sisters Charlotte Turpin of Bowie, Maryland, Brenda Fay Allen of Plano, Texas. Brothers Lynn Kindell of Canton, Ohio and Bruce Watts of Tampa, Florida and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. All to cherish her memory.
Special Thanks to her cousin Shawanna Goodman and family friend Daisy Brown for their heartfelt love & care and the Ayden healthcare team.
“Godie” will truly be missed by her loved ones.
