Barbara Kula Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Jan. 12, 2026.
It is with peace in our hearts that the family of Barbara Kula (lovingly called Mimi) announces her passing on December 21, 2025, at the age of 92. She is survived by her three children, a brother, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mimi was a force of nature. Her beauty was stunning, and her personality, magnetic. Her kind smile and wise words would leave you feeling safe and grounded, while her silly nature and infectious laughter could turn a pity party into a dance party. There never has been, and never will be, another like her. Every part of her was uniquely full of love and joy - not because life was always lived with ease - but because she was determined to find beauty in brokenness and never settled for less.
Mimi lived her life loving and serving others with an open and generous heart, regardless of what anyone had to offer her. She was faithful and steadfast in the pursuit of her family, never forgetting to send a card or make a call. She was a great listener if you needed to talk. And, she was a great talker if you just wanted to hear her beautiful voice - often telling you about her latest quilt or the new craft she was working on, while never quite realizing that she had more talent in her pinky than most had in their whole body. Either way, conversations with her were a gift.
Mimi was vocal about her faith in Jesus and her excitement to spend eternity with Him and the ones she loved, especially Joseph (her loving husband who passed in 2022). And, although she will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, her legacy will live on in us.
Dearest Mimi, we know you are partying in heaven, free from limitations, and we know that we will see you again. Thank you for loving us so well. Eat all the sweets you want, enjoy what we can only imagine, and save a dance for each of us! To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Barbara, please visit our Tree Store.
