Barbara Ruth Lime (nee McDougall), age 96, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at home.
She was born on July 22, 1928 in Paterson, NJ. She resided in Clinton Twp., NJ moving from Bridgewater, NJ, Flemington, NJ and West Palm Beach, FL.
She was the daughter of the late David and Edna McDougall of Wayne, NJ.
She was married to Daniel A. Lime in 1948 who predeceased her in 2021.
Barbara had two sisters, Bertha Tintle from Hawley, PA and Dorothea Babb from Jacksonville, FL who both predeceased her.
She became a Real Estate Agent in 1961 and attained her Broker's License in 1964. After 32 years, she retired from Real Estate in December of 1993 and moved to West Palm Beach, FL.
She became a Stephen Minister at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in West Palm Beach. Barbara and her husband moved back to New Jersey to live with their daughter Kathy and her husband Carey Dolbier since 2017.
Barbara was Clerk of Session in 1985 for the Pluckemin Presbyterian Church in Pluckemin, NJ. She had been actively involved in the wonderful Women's Ministry of Millington Baptist Church in Millington, NJ. She was a volunteer on the Dream Team at the Somerset County Liquid Church located in Somerville, NJ.
In addition to her daughter Kathy and her husband Carey, Barbara is survived by her son, Daniel A. Lime II and his wife Wendy in Carey, NC, son James C. Lime and his wife Kimberly of York, ME; and daughter Patti J. Hersch of Frisco, TX. She was very proud to have ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 11am. All will take place at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
Memorials can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to Samaritan's Purse.
