It is with absolute heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, Aunt, Sister, Grandma, and Great Grandmother, Barbara Jean Macomber (80) of Spruce Pine, NC on Friday December 6, 2024, at the Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Joining her beloved husband Jim in heaven, who passed just two months earlier.

Always wanting to serve others in her retirement she volunteered with several pregnancy centers in Florida and North Carolina and was an Auxiliary Gideon in North Carolina in charge of the Mitchell County Women's camp. Barbara also held weekly Bible studies at the Hope house in Spruce Pine wanting to share her love for Jesus with everyone she met.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Barbara and Jim.
Barbara was our cousin via our mothers Alice and Agnes Kadish being sisters.
We have fond memories of family get-togethers growing up in Brockton.
Barbara was an excellent student at Brockton High School (1962). When my mother was in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment, Barbara's visit with her wqs very meaningful.
Our condolences to her family.

Francis (Frank) & Marcia Ethier, Acton Ma.
