Barbara McCormick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes – MacDonald Chapel - Howell on Jan. 20, 2026.
Barbara Ann McCormick, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by love, just as she was in life. Barbara was born on March 19, 1946, in Detroit to Robert and Mildred "Cookie" Parker. The youngest of three daughters, she was a devoted sister to Carol Caldwell and Betty Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Parker, and her sister, Carol.
Throughout her life, Barbara was accomplished in many pursuits, including swimming, ice skating, knitting, and music. She was loved for her sharp and sparkling sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and deep devotion to those she held dear.
As a teenager, Barbara met the love of her life and soulmate, Chris, and together they began a remarkable journey that would span more than six decades. Their true-love story was built on laughter, friendship, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. Wherever they went, they formed lasting friendships and left behind cherished memories.
Barbara was a fiercely proud and loving mother to her three children: Chris (Patti), Tammy, and Kim (Jay), who were the greatest joy of her life. She was a devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren and a delighted great-grandmother to three, with two more on the way. Each of them brought her immeasurable happiness-and plenty of opportunities for bragging.
Known for her quick wit, keen mind, and warm smile, Barbara had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome. She was always ready with a laugh, a kind word, or a comforting presence. Barbara's legacy will live on through the family she loved so deeply and the many lives she touched. She will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held 12PM Friday, December 19, 2025 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald Chapel, 315 N. Michigan Ave, Howell, with visitation an hour prior.
Barbara Ann McCormick will be deeply missed and forever forever remembered.
