Barbara Gwendolyn Middleton

Barbara Gwendolyn Durham Middleton, 81, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

She was born on August 30, 1944, in Hopkins County, KY, to her sweet mother, Rosa Ashmore Durham and her wonderful father, Carlos Lacy Durham. Barbara was a professional member of Hopkins County and Madisonville, KY with her business education. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Business. She worked for Building and Loan Association as a loan officer, Farmers Bank as head teller, and was top real estate agent for Century 21 in Madisonville. She retired from the State of Kentucky as a case worker with the Division of Child Support. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY. She was a loving wife and mother and grandmother. Her hobbies were painting and her family!

Barbara is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Gary Curtis Middleton; her daughters, Sheila Middleton (Mark Ross Carlisle, Sr.) Carlisle of Fairhope Alabama and Katonna Kurtis Middleton (Landon) Hughes of Madisonville; grandchildren, Ashley Carlisle (Kyle) Faldoski of Foley AL, Mark Ross Carlisle Jr. of Daphne, AL, Henry (Brittney) Walker, Logan (Katie) Hughes, and Micheal Hughes, all of Madisonville ; and great-grandchildren, Cole Walker, Grace Hughes, and Willow Walker.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Harris Funeral Home was entrusted with care.
