Barbara “Barb” Mobley, age 74, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown.

Per Barb’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 4:00- 6:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Barb’s memorial service has been scheduled for Wednesday November 5th starting at 6:00 P.M., also at the funeral home. Pastor Matt Johnson will be officiating. Barbara (Dolash) Mobley was born on July 25, 1951, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Leo and Greta (Ellis) Dolash. Barb attended school at South Tama County High School and graduated with the class of 1969. In May of 1997 she married Gil Mobley and they both made their home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Barb started her working career in nursing, then as a housekeeper, and finally retiring as a dietary aide at the Iowa Veterans Home. She also had the opportunity to work as a secretary for State Senator, Randal Giannetto. Barb was a proud volunteer of the Democratic political party.

In her free time Barb enjoyed fishing, reading books, hand stitching, quilting, crocheting, and traveling to various parts of the country. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her children: Joe (Cari) Dolash of Marshalltown, and Amy (Jeff Arnold) Birkenholtz of Melbourne; her three grandchildren: Jordan Dolash, Jaydon (Jasmine Judge) Dolash, and Logan (Dallas) Birkenholtz; her five great-grandchildren: Shylee, Ryelyn, Skylette, Hunter, and Hazel; and her siblings: Denny (Barb) Dolash of Tama, IA. and Becky (Mark) Roelens of Dysart, IA. and Tucson, AZ.; sister-in-law, Kathy Dolash of Kansas City, MO. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Leo and Greta; her husband Gil Mobley; and her brothers: Ron Dolash and Mike Dolash.
