Barbara Jean Oakeley Mondragon, age 79, was born January 2, 1945 and died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on March 26, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eloisa Lopez Oakeley and Robert Charles Oakeley; her husband Eloy “Lloyd” Mondragon; brother Robert Oakeley; granddaughter Jeanette Flores; niece Althea Oakeley and nephew Patrick Oakeley.
Barbara is survived by her children, Kathy Coca (Alex), Stephan Mondragon (Joyce), David Mondragon, and Roberta Mondragon; brothers William Oakeley (Antonia), James Oakeley (Louella), and sister-in-law Gladys Oakeley; her grandchildren, Ronnie Mondragon (Erica), Monica Coca (LeRoy), Jessica Coca (Andrew), Krystal Mondragon-Benavidez (Art), Monique Flores, Orlando Quintana, Jr. (Kamal), Antonio Quintana (Marissa), Roberto Quintana (Jennifer) and Maria Quintana; her great-grandchildren, Dominic Mondragon, Citlallin Coca, Isabella Lampman, Amari Abeyta, Kiarrah Mondragon, Leeigha Lampman, Aries Mondragon, Oakeley Benavidez, Ashley Chavez, Nathan Garcia, Lizzie Garcia, Cheyenne Vargas, Alonzo Garcia, Oliver Quintana, Sophia Quintana, Madeline Quintana, Ayden Quintana, Kaiya Quintana and Kendrix Quintana. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
