Moriarty, Barbara Jean "Bobbie" (nee Cecil), 91, was born on March 3, 1933 to loving parents, Thurman and Mary Louise Cecil.
She retired from UofL where she worked in the office of the president and a former Brown and Williamson employee. She was a Catholic and a Most Blessed Sacrament parishioner for many years. She was an avid bingo player, hiker, and gardener.
She is preceded in death by her parents; former husband, John T. Moriarty; sister, Jo Ann Peterworth; daughter, Bridget Moriarty; son, Daniel Moriarty; grandson, Patrick McCormick; and longtime companion, Raymond "Buck" Buckman.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Moriarty (Yvette), Shannon Bacon (John), and Kelly Moriarty (Claudia), grandchildren Timothy, Justin, and Jessica Moriarty, John Bacon, Sarah Williamson and Kelly McCormick, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be held from 2 – 7 p.m. Thursday, February 13 at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Rd, with a Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m. A private burial of ashes in Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be sent to Norton Healthcare Heel, Dog, Heal facility dog program or the Hildegard House.
The family would like to thank Creekside on Bardstown for the love and care they gave to Bobbie over the years.
