Barbara Ann Morrison (Madonna) passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 in Jacksonville Beach, FL surrounded by her loved ones and longtime caregivers. Her family is deeply saddened by the loss of Barbara who was the heart of a family proud to call her both mother and wife.
Barbara’s memory lives on through her husband, Stephan, her daughters Angela and Victoria and her son, Stephan II. Her family’s grief extends to Angela’s husband Nelson and Barbara’s two young granddaughters, Paisley (of Victoria) and Emelia (of Angela). Lastly, she leaves behind her brother Michael and her sister Bernadette along with their families and her many cousins and relatives in Pennsylvania and across the country and the world.
Born on February 16, 1951 in Wilksburg, PA. The oldest of three, “Barbie” (as she was sometimes called) grew up amongst a large, tight knit Italian-American family full of loud spaghetti dinners, pizzelle cookie desserts and Liverpool card games. She eventually settled on the Southside of Jacksonville, FL where she resided for over 51 years. Here she married, adopted and gave birth to her children and built a full life that included a decades long career as an Administrative Assistant.
Outside of her work, her true passion was art. She had incredible drawing skills and was often commissioned to draw and paint various portraits. Building upon her art skills, she also ran her own business where she custom framed artwork at home in her garage. Her life’s work culminated in a life size graphite drawing of Michelangelo’s Pieta, which she later donated to Assumption Catholic School. Her drawing remains on display in the school stairwell to this day.
Those that knew her well could attest to her sense of humor. Funny character voices and silly faces were the norm. Witty jokes always caught the attention and laughter of strangers. Barbara loved any excuse to put on a fun costume and she truly brought some of the happiest moments to her family. She devoted her life to her children, family and friends and those that loved her can attest to her constant willingness to put others before herself.
Eventually, in her later years, her health needs grew beyond what love could provide. During this time her family leaned upon the team at Beach House Assisted Living. With that said, in lieu of flowers, her family welcomes donations to her final home as a gesture of gratitude for their compassion and care. Please send donations to Beach House Senior Living, Attn: Victory Sloan, 1315 2nd Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
