Barbara J. Mosny

Mosny, Barbara Jean "Barb" Redmer, 72, of Rockford went to be with our Lord on March 7, 2023.
Barb will always be remembered for the loving care and devotion she gave to her daughter Julie who has Rett Syndrome. Always the optimist, she was very thankful when they identified the name of Julie's condition when Julie turned 12. Barb was a strong supporter of people with disabilities, particularly educating others on and encouraging support for those with Rett Syndrome.
Barb was born in Rockford, Illinois, on August 10, 1950, the daughter of Frederick Otto and Nancy Rose Redmer (Williamson). Barb graduated from West High School in 1968. Her first job was working for the law firm of Reno-Zahm as a legal secretary for Angus More, later an associate judge. She continued in that position for 24 years. Barb then began a new career working as a Human Resource Assistant for Barbara Olson Center of Hope where her daughter Julie has been a participant since she turned 18.
Barb and Emil Kenneth "Ken" Mosny, Jr. were married on September 12, 1971, and celebrated 51 years of marriage with their children, Emil "Skip" Mosny III (Carla) and Julie, and grandchildren, Olivia and Samantha. Barb is also survived by her two siblings, Betty (Bill) Kellner and Fred William "Bill" Redmer.
Over the years, Barb enjoyed caring for her daughter, being part of the Red Hat Society, collecting cookbooks for all their recipes, and being with her family. Being a mother, wife, and grandmother were the most important parts of her life.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. following the visitation. Burial will conclude at a later date in Owen Center Cemetery.
