Barbara Theresa Mullings, beloved mother of five, passed away peacefully at home in Miramar, Florida, on July 24, 2025, at the age of 94, her departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1931, Barbara was the daughter of Norman Wesley Palmer and Ellaire Louise Palmer. Growing up, she always stepped up to assist Momma. She had leadership abilities and became Momma's right hand. Barbara completed the Senior Cambridge at St. James High School and began her professional career at the Ministry of Social Welfare, where she served as second in command at the Mile Gully, Manchester Division, before transferring to the Kingston branch. Barbara later joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she worked with distinction until retirement.

After migrating to the United States, Barbara settled in Brooklyn, New York, and continued her dedication to public service at One Brooklyn Health – Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. She retired in 2004 and moved to South Florida to enjoy her later years.

Barbara is survived by her devoted children: Chana-Kay, Sean, Angela, Patrick, and Peter; her cherished grandchildren: Charles Jr., Sean Jr., Shane, Tristan, Kaden, Samuel, Philip, Patrick Jr., Peter Jr., Christopher, Michael, and Giovanni; her loving siblings: Owen, Victor, Trevor, Eric, Claire, Doreen, Winsome, and Joyce. Each held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever remember her reassuring voice and hearty laughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Ellaire Palmer; her husband, Sanford Mullings; sister, Joyce Gordon; brother, Dennis Palmer; and grandnephews, Kenrick Scarlett and Naphtali Josephs.
