Nelson Brito, beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on August 11, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 53. Born on November 6, 1971, in Queens, New York, Nelson was the cherished son of the late Fransica Brito (2014) and Julio Alberto Brito (2017). He grew up surrounded by love, family, and the vibrant energy of New York, carrying that warmth with him throughout his life.

For over 20 years, Nelson shared a deep and enduring partnership with Cinetta Turner, building a life together filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He was a proud and loving father to his children Dominique, Romonica, and Victoria, who were the center of his world. Becoming a grandfather to Juliana Bell brought him even greater joy, a role he embraced with his whole heart.

Nelson was also a devoted brother to Alberto Brito and Ana Brito Cartwright, and a caring uncle to Matthew Brito Cartwright. He was a godfather to many, a role he held with pride, always stepping in with love, support, and guidance. His family ties were a cornerstone of his life, and he never hesitated to show his love and loyalty.

An artist at heart, Nelson found peace and purpose in painting. His creativity often filled his home, as he would transform his living room walls into canvases of imagination and beauty. Friends and family admired his work so much that many asked him to bring that same artistry into their homes. Painting wasn't just a passion for Nelson, it was his way of leaving color, expression, and pieces of himself in the lives of those he loved.

Nelson also loved to cook, especially when it meant bringing people together for his cookouts. Whether it was his famous ribs, cabbage rolls, or one of his many other dishes, his meals were more than food, they were an extension of his love. Cooking gave him a way to nurture, to celebrate, and to make sure no one left his presence without being fed in both body and spirit.

Nelson's presence was magnetic, his love genuine, and his laughter unforgettable. He will be remembered not only for the art he created and the meals he shared, but also for the life he painted with compassion, humor, and unshakable love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and resilience that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
