Barbara Nietupski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home on Jan. 14, 2026.
Barbara Lorraine Nietupski (nee Mill), of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. She was 80 years old. Born September 3, 1945 in Norristown, Barbara was the daughter of the late Mervan and Lorraine (nee Miller) Mill, and beloved wife of the late Charles Lynn (Buck) Nietupski.

Barbara worked most of her life in customer service, first as a waitress at the old Jem, and then as a cashier at various grocery stores in the area, including Atlantic Thrift, Clemens Market, and most recently ShopRite where daily she encountered many of her friends, neighbors and customers who became friends over the many years. Barbara's true passion, however, was gardening. She was an accomplished horticulturist. She loved working with flowers and spending time tending to her always impressive summer vegetable garden where you could find her well after dark with her lighted helmet on many days.

She enjoyed spending time at the beach as well as traveling. She never stopped talking about her "trip of a lifetime" to Hawaii for her 30th wedding anniversary which was so good they just had to return!

Barbara was the loving mother of Penny Lynn Zullo-Konzem, and the late Stanley C. Nietupski. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Michael A. Zullo (Teresa), Todd J. Zullo, Scott T. Zullo (Iris) and Joseph A. Zullo (Blair); her great grandchildren, Anakin and Kylie, all of Waynesboro, Virginia, as well as her siblings Sandra A. Arcade and Barry E. Mill (JoAnn), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Wayne H. Mill and Bruce K. Mill, her in-laws Katzmer and Margaret (nee Strouse) Nietupski, as well as her sisters-in-law Elaine M. McGinley and Susan K. Kleckner and brother-in-law John S. Arcade.

Relatives and friends are invited to Barbara's Life Celebration on Sunday evening, January 18th from 5-7 PM and on Monday, January 19th beginning at 10AM at Boyd Horrox-Givnish, 200 West Germantown Pike. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11AM at the funeral home and will be immediately followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery.
