Barbara (Yates) Nottingham, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024, in Terrell, Texas, at the age of 86. She was born on March 13, 1938, in Brady, Texas to Troy & Pauline Yates. Barbara was a loving and compassionate woman who touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Nottingham Sr. and wife Shannon; daughters, Deborah (Nottingham) Jacks and husband Larry and Kimberly (Nottingham) Odom and husband James; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Yates and wife Laura, and Larry Yates and wife Deborah.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Phillip H. Nottingham, and her mother and father Troy & Pauline Yates.
Barbara was known for her kindness, creativity, and love for Jesus. She enjoyed playing the piano and the accordion, singing, sewing, reading her Bible, and watching old Western's. One of her greatest accomplishments was her family. Barbara was a member of Bethany Fellowship Ministries in Garland, TX, where she found solace and community.
Services for Barbara will be held at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home, 12649 Lake June Road, Mesquite, TX 75180. A viewing will take place on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm, followed by a service on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 10am. The Nottingham Family would like to thank those at Vitas Hospice & Terrell Healthcare that helped take care of our mother, you all were cherished and loved by her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and church family. She was known as a woman of faith, to know her was to love her.
Those serving as casket bearers include Larry Jacks, Charles Money, James Odom, Noah Nottingham, Ronnie Nottingham Jr., Levi Worley, Phillip J Nottingham, Jared Jacks, Braden Nottingham and Caleb Nottingham.
