Barbara Nowak

Barbara (Szuchnicka) Nowak, 68, of Saugus, died suddenly on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Born in Sokolka, Poland to the late Michael and Julia Szuchnicka, Barbara was a schoolteacher for many years and later a principal in Poland. She moved to the US in 1990 and lived in Lynn and most recently Saugus. She was the beloved wife of 28 years of Stefan Nowak.
After moving to the US, Barbara focused on raising her son Mateusz (Matt). She enjoyed crossword puzzles, spending time with her family, and tending to her garden. Barbara was highly involved in the Polish community in the Boston area. She was also a breast cancer survivor.
Barbara is survived by her husband Stefan, son Matt, brother Richard Szuchnicki and his wife Anna, nieces and nephews Thomas, Peter and Ewa, as well as several extended family members in Poland and the US. She was predeceased by her parents and her aunt Helen Jakimczyk.
Visitation for Barbara will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn. Funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Saint Pius V Church in Lynn followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Saugus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
