Barbara Jean Anderson Olson was born to Charles and Lieuwen Spencer Anderson September 5, 1931, in Iron County, Utah. She spent her childhood in the beautiful town of Glendale, Utah, which her grandfather had settled. She has a proud heritage including Orson Spencer and Aurelia Spencer Rogers that she spoke of often. She attended Valley High School, BYU University, and Dixie College. After getting married, she made her home in Logan, Utah.

Barbara was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an award-winning seamstress in her youth, sewed her own beautiful wedding dress, all of her daughters' prom dresses and so much more for others and her home. She also spent hours sewing costumes for The Festivals of the American West program over the years.

Barbara was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various roles including Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Primary President. She served a mission as a young woman in Argentina and later in life served a mission with her husband, Melvin for the CES Program in Virginia.

After Barbara's mission to Argentina she worked in the church office building for three years in the translation department under the direction of Gordon B Hinkley and even worked for a time for President David O McKay.

She was an accomplished accompanist for many choirs and music groups as well as the ward organist from an early age. Her dedication and service were inspirational, demonstrating her deep faith and commitment to her spiritual community.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin, son Craig, and siblings Keith, Kent, Pauline (Rider), Rose (Mackelprang), and L'Dean Anderson.

She is survived by her children, Clair, (Manami), Sheryl Booth,(Paul), and Sheline Booth (Brett). She has an unconditional and endless love for her 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Barbara's love, service, and dedication to her family and community will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Aegis Hospice, CNS Hospice, and Intermountain Home Health. Also a personal, thank you to Ashlee, Kat, Kylie and Andrea who cared for her over the past year and in her final days.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Logan 43rd Ward Chapel 1225 North 600 East, Logan, UT. Interment will follow at the Millville-Nibley Cemetery.
